Often referred to as “One Year Programs,” these programs are designed to give the student a concentration of courses in a chosen field. In less than a year, the student can master the technology required to start in a new field or advance in their current profession. In many cases, after completing one of these certificate programs, students decide to complete an Associate of Applied Science degree in one of the concentrations offered here at CSCC.
The Workforce Preparedness Program in the Technology Department is split into Architectural Technology, Climate Control Technology, Computer Service Technology, Construction Technology, Electro/Mechanical Maintenance, and Mechanical Technology. Each area has its common core of course requirements. All courses taken for credit may be applied toward the Associate of Applied Science degree. In addition, credits earned at CSCC are transferable to four-year institutions, especially those in the Tennessee Board of Regents.
